Joy is a deep seeded sense of self. An acknowledgement of one’s inner peace. Joy is something to strive for, a feeling to return to when there is chaos surrounding you. Joy is a contentment in the state of your being. Joy goes beyond the present, it takes care of the past, and looks forward to the future. Joy is not of the material plain, but one of spirit. Take heart and find joy, for all is going according to divine plan.

“Joy is a deep seeded sense of self”
While courage is saying yes, strength is saying no! No, to being someone we are not. No, to doing something that we can not afford. No, to doing something that may hurt someone. No, to accepting the bad behavior of others, even of those closet to us. No, no, no! The strength to say no comes from a source deep within. A source that can be tapped into at any given moment. Strength is standing tall in our convictions when all else is crumbling around us! There is kindness, compassion, and love in saying no! When we say no, we are teaching others how to treat us!

Courage is the ability to do something that frightens you. Pray that you have the courage to do the right thing, the courage to chose joy, and the courage to persist. Pray that you have the courage to live with your own truth and to make it an everyday occurrence. Pray that you have the courage to live with an open heart and be willing to love, to forgive, and to move on. Pray that you have the courage to laugh everyday and the courage to cry when you must. Pray that you have the courage to right any wrongs and the courage to accept the consequences. Pray that you have the courage to embrace life and all its beauty and the courage to learn life’s lessons as quickly as possible. Lastly, pray that you have the courage to love yourself with no exceptions!

“To pray for courage is the most courageous act”
It is the Christmas season, the season of Advent. No matter what your beliefs or your stand in regards to God, it is the time that we acknowledge Christ and His birth or, at least, the possibility and hope of His presence. No matter what your belief or your standing, now is a time of light and faith. That is what Christmas is. The coming of light into the world. If you can not bring yourself to look for the light in Christ, then look within yourself. Find the light and faith within you, let it grow deep and have it be a shining star for others to see. Faith takes practice, especially faith in oneself.
